CSVProof processes CSV files on your computer. The core editor, comparison, recipe and report workflow does not require uploading source files to CSVProof or storing them in a CSVProof cloud account.
Browser tools
The planned viewer, validator and keyed compare tools will process selected files locally in the browser. The tools are not implemented in this website round, so no page currently accepts a CSV file. When they are added, the privacy boundary will be testable in the browser network panel and documented on each tool.
Early-access form
The signup form collects the email address you provide and, when selected, your platform, current tool, CSV frequency, primary job and Personal or Business interest. This information is used to operate early access, understand demand and send relevant product or benchmark updates. It is not sold.
The form includes spam protection and stores submissions in a dedicated SQLite database on the same VPS that serves this website. To request deletion, email privacy@csvproof.com.
Analytics
The site emits a small, allowlisted set of product-interest events: page view, CTA source, confirmed signup, pricing view and plan selection, workflow-preview interaction, benchmark engagement, and viewer/compare/validator intent.
Events contain the page path, event source and relevant coarse choice such as plan or workflow step. They do not contain email addresses, CSV content, filenames, local paths, headers, cell values, raw errors or file hashes. When configured, PostHog receives these events through a first-party proxy with autocapture, replay, surveys, exception capture and person profiles disabled.
Session storage
The site does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not create a persistent visitor profile. A random analytics identifier is stored in the current tab’s session storage and disappears when the tab closes. Coarse signup choices are held there between form submission and the confirmation page so a conversion is counted only after a successful submission.
Search Console
Google Search Console may process normal search impression and click information supplied by Google, including query, page, country, device and position. It does not receive CSV file content from CSVProof.
